Job Description
The Road Safety Manager leads the overall safety strategy for road and highway construction projects. The role ensures that roadworks, traffic setups, and construction operations comply with safety regulations and risk‑management practices. The manager oversees safety inspectors, coordinates with stakeholders, and ensures a zero‑incident culture across the project.

Your role- Develop and implement the project's safety management plan, road safety procedures, and Traffic Management Plans (TMP).
- Lead and supervise road safety inspectors and HSE personnel.
- Conduct safety audits, hazard assessments, and high‑risk activity reviews.
- Ensure safe design and placement of traffic diversions, signage, barriers, and detours.
- Approve safety method statements, risk assessments (RAMS), and emergency response plans.
- Provide leadership during incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
- Train staff and contractors on road safety, work‑zone protection, and traffic control.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards (MUTCD, OSHA, ISO 45001), and project HSE requirements.
- Liaise with authorities, police, consultants, and stakeholders regarding safety approvals and inspections.
- Prepare monthly safety reports, KPI summaries, and performance evaluations.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all construction activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Safety Engineering, or equivalent.
- 10‑15 years of HSE/road safety experience, with at least 5 years in managerial roles.
- Strong understanding of road safety engineering, risk management, and traffic control standards.
- Certifications:
NEBOSH IGC/Diploma, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, OSHA preferred. - Proven leadership, communication, training, and decision‑making skills.
- Experience working on major highways, expressways, and infrastructure projects.
