Job Description Overview
Oversees inspection and verification of mechanical systems and equipment installations for infrastructure facilities and utilities.
Your role- Inspect installation of pumps, HVAC units, piping systems, fire-fighting systems.
- Review mechanical shop drawings, submittals, and method statements.
- Witness pressure testing, leakage tests, flushing, and mechanical cleaning.
- Inspect pipe supports, alignment, insulation, vibration isolators.
- Ensure mechanical equipment installation meets ASHRAE/NFPA/API requirements.
- Review equipment calibration, certification, and manufacturer compliance.
- Monitor T&C (Testing & Commissioning) activities and sign-off checklists.
- Conduct inspections for valves, actuators, fire extinguishers, sprinklers.
- Ensure compliance with mechanical ITPs and inspection checklists.
- Validate O&M manuals, test scripts, and training records.
- Maintain inspection requests (IRs) and manage documentation.
- Participate in site walkdowns and prepare punch lists.
- Monitor mechanical room clearances and access compliance.
- Verify material and equipment tagging, labeling, and identification.
- Solid understanding of mechanical codes (NFPA, ASHRAE, SMACNA).
- Experience with mechanical systems for infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of T&C procedures.
- Ability to read P&IDs and mechanical schematics.
- Strong QA/QC background.
- Familiarity with mechanical system troubleshooting.
- Good reporting and documentation skills.
- Understanding of fire protection systems inspection.
