Job DescriptionThe Corrosion & Tightness Engineer is responsible for complete vehicle corrosion and tightness evaluation through virtual and physical testing. The role includes defining test methods, target setting, requirement finalization, test execution, and reporting for passenger vehicles.
Responsibilities- Tightness:
Perform virtual tightness checks during concept design phase - Define test methods and requirements; build full-vehicle tightness validation plans and test parts
- Execute tightness tests (water management, water fording, washability, dust, etc.) per internal and industry standards
- Prepare test reports and track issue resolution
- Raise, manage, and resolve issues impacting tightness performance
- Corrosion:
Define corrosion strategy for complete vehicle (body and assembly parts) - Define system/component corrosion targets
- Execute corrosion durability tests and assessments (including teardown/cutting and evaluation)
- Prepare corrosion test reports and track issue resolution
- Raise, manage, and resolve issues impacting corrosion performance
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering (or related technical field);
Master’s preferred - 8+ years experience in automotive product development in durability
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, communication, collaboration, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
