Facade Engineering Manager – Contracting

A leading main contractor is seeking an experienced Façade Engineering Manager to join their Riyadh-based project leadership team, supporting the delivery of a high‑profile giga project in Saudi Arabia. This senior technical role will take full ownership of the façade engineering, design coordination, and construction delivery of complex external envelope systems. The position requires a professional with a strong architectural background, deep technical understanding of façade systems, and proven experience working closely with structural engineers, specialist contractors, and site teams to deliver high‑quality, buildable solutions.

• Lead and manage all façade engineering and design activities across the full project lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through construction and handover.
• Act as the primary technical authority for all façade systems including curtain walling, cladding, glazing, stone, GRC/GFRC, metal systems, and specialist envelope elements.
• Manage and coordinate façade consultants, specialist designers, and façade subcontractors to ensure compliant, coordinated, and buildable design solutions.
• Work closely with structural engineers to resolve loadings, fixings, movements, tolerances, and interface conditions.
• Ensure façade designs meet architectural intent, performance requirements (thermal, acoustic, fire, water/air tightness), and statutory approvals.
• Oversee façade technical submissions including design reports, calculations, drawings, samples, mock‑ups, and testing regimes.
• Support procurement through technical evaluation, tender clarification, and subcontractor appointment.
• Lead façade mock‑ups, laboratory testing, on‑site testing, inspections, and quality assurance processes.
• Degree qualified in Architecture (strongly preferred) or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum 18–20+ years’ experience in façade design, engineering, and delivery on major construction projects.
• In‑depth knowledge of façade systems, materials, performance requirements, and construction methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience working closely with structural engineers to resolve façade‑structure interfaces.
• Strong understanding of façade delivery within design‑and‑build contracting environments.
• Previous experience working in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is highly advantageous.
• Excellent coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience on large‑scale, complex or iconic developments is strongly preferred.
