Switchgear Design Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Design Engineer / R&D Engineer specializing in mechanical design engineering for medium voltage (3.3kV to 11kV) air-insulated switchboards and low-voltage products (MLTP, MCC panels, MSB, ATS, etc.). The ideal candidate will have experience in model development using Autodesk Inventor, preparation of manufacturing drawings, bill of materials creation, and type testing. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and 2D AutoCAD is required.

• Develop conceptual designs and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Prepare manufacturing drawings and create bills of materials.
• Create general layouts and arrangements.
• Perform GD&T, tolerance analysis and ensure dimensional accuracy for all components.
• Optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, and ease of assembly.
• Conduct current analysis and thermal calculations for critical components.
• Review and approve supplier drawings and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Support manufacturing/prototype development and oversee assembly trials.
• Maintain design documentation and revision control in PLM systems.
• Participate in design reviews and implement feedback for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with procurement for material selection and vendor qualification.
• Monitor project timeline.

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (BE).
• 7-9 years of experience in mechanical design engineering & R&D.
• In-depth knowledge of 11kV Air Insulated Switchgear, SBB & DBB systems, Low Voltage Products.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and 2D AutoCAD for conceptual design, drawing and documentation.
• Knowledge of type testing & IEC standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with other CAD software (AutoCAD & Inventor).
• Project management experience.
