MEP Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee the construction of MEP systems for new buildings or renovations, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical.
• Develop project proposals, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
• Prepare contract documents and specifications.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Coordinate with other engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure smooth communication and efficient workflows.
• Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create 2D and 3D models.
• Perform energy audits and develop energy conservation plans.
• Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems.
• Analyze data from tests and site observations to troubleshoot issues and inform future designs.
• Keep abreast of new technology and developments in the field.
• Attend conferences and continuing education courses to maintain professional licensure.
• Write reports detailing project findings and recommendations.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or plumbing engineering
• 15+ years’ experience as an engineer in the MEP field
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
• Strong understanding of building codes and standards
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills
