AboutYour Team
You will report to the MEP Manager and work closely with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, authorities, and internal construction teams to ensure all Fire & Life Safety (FLS) activities are delivered in line with project schedules, approved specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Your Role:As an FLS MEP Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Coordinating the construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of all Fire & Life Safety systems including fire alarm, firefighting, smoke management, emergency lighting, and suppression systems
- Preparing detailed work schedules, look-ahead plans, and material submittal schedules aligned with overall project timelines
- Monitoring site activities and supervising subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and QA/QC standards
- Reviewing shop drawings, technical submittals, RFIs, method statements, and consultant comments related to FLS systems
- Ensuring compliance with NFPA standards, Civil Defense regulations, project specifications, and international fire safety codes
- Coordinating with architectural, structural, civil, and MEP teams to resolve interface and site coordination issues
- Managing inspections, authority approvals, and Civil Defense requirements throughout the project lifecycle
- Supporting testing & commissioning activities and ensuring successful system handover and certification
- Monitoring project progress, identifying delays, and implementing corrective actions to maintain project schedules
- Reviewing as-built drawings, snagging activities, and project close-out documentation
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Fire & Life Safety systems within construction and MEP projects
- Previous experience on large-scale building, hospitality, commercial, or high-rise construction projects preferred
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, or Building Services Engineering
Skills:
- Strong understanding of Fire Alarm, Fire Fighting, Smoke Control, and Emergency Systems
- In-depth knowledge of NFPA standards, BS standards, local Civil Defense requirements, and international fire codes
- Proven experience managing FLS subcontractors and coordinating multidisciplinary construction activities
- Strong understanding of testing, commissioning, and authority approval processes
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight construction deadlines
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM coordination, and MS Office applications is an advantage
