Downstream Corrosion Engineering Specialist

Job Description - Our client is currently seeking an experienced Downstream Corrosion Engineering Specialist to join their Consulting Services Department. The successful Engineer will join The Corrosion Technology Unit, providing technical consultations and maintaining standards on issues related to corrosion prediction, included but not limited to: mitigation and monitoring, hydro-testing; water treatment; chemical cleaning; mothballing and equipment preservation;
Boiler Condition Assessment (BCA).
Provide central engineering consultancy focusing on upstream corrosion control, monitoring and corrosion prediction providing support to operations and to field operations for upstream facilities on an as needed basis.
Provide consultation and review of capital project developments reviewing engineering design packages.
Design, develop and modify company standards, procedures and best practices, serving on international standards writing bodies and publishing technical papers as opportunity allows.
Develop new technologies and apply these new technologies applying for patents when appropriate.
Play an active part in providing training courses and mentoring developing engineer
Be a proactively team member in special teams and task forces, for example incident investigations, special audit teams, value engineering teams.
Qualifications- Master's degree in Corrosion, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or other related sciences.
- At least 15 years of job related experience in corrosion management expertise, preferably in field and corporate locations.
- Experience with corrosion prediction programs and use of corrosion software and latest corrosion monitoring techniques is beneficial.
- Be an active member of NACE or other international technical committee, achieving published technical papers.
