Supplier Quality Engineer
Responsibilities- Conduct Supplier Qualification Audit for new suppliers as per defined process.
- Generate PPAP request in Arena for specific suppliers in coordination with the NPI team.
- Visit suppliers for PPAP audits, review the entire process, generate actions wherever required, and work with suppliers to close the actions.
- Collate and evaluate all quality documents from suppliers as per acceptable reference standards and submit to customers on time.
- Perform periodic process audits at suppliers and close all non‑conformities by working with suppliers.
- Support the Quality Manager to monitor and report on supplier product quality and performance.
- Issue Material Dispatch Clearance Certificates (MDCC) to suppliers after verifying the data and keep records of all shipment documents in the system.
- Prepare and share reports of parts, product, and document issues on a monthly basis to management.
- Visit sites for critical quality issues, gather data for root cause analysis, and derive corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct NCR analysis with suppliers using the 8D method.
- Train supplier teams on quality tools.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement of part and site performance indicators by identifying quality issues and ways to reduce waste.
- Work on new ideas for automation of documentation and other internal processes.
- Apply Six Sigma methodologies, driving continuous improvements in process to improve product quality.
- Be part of a sustainable engineering team to evaluate new requirements by collecting data from VOCs, best practices in the market, etc.
- Be willing to travel to suppliers, project sites, and customers for 70% of the time.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 6–8 years of experience in supplier Quality Management.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
- Proficient in quality tools such as 8D, 5‑Why, SPC, Pareto, and RCA processes.
- Must be certified as a QMS, IATF, or VDA internal auditor.
- In‑depth working knowledge of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and supplier qualification processes.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Good knowledge of data analytics and presentation skills with tools like Power BI and Minitab.
- Ability to plan and prioritize activities based on the situation.
- Willingness to learn and adapt for process improvement.
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good command of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of the local language is preferable.
