Senior Electrical Engineer; H​/F

As part of critical electrical infrastructure projects, we are recruiting on behalf of our client a Senior Electrical Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the full commissioning of HV/EHV installations, from initial testing phases through to final energization.

You will act as a technical expert, ensuring the reliability, safety, and compliance of equipment before it is brought into operation.

Perform commissioning tests on power transformers, switch gear (GIS/AIS), and HV/EHV cables (VLF, HV, Tan Delta, Partial Discharge).

Carry out functional and performance testing of equipment.

Test, configure, and validate protection relays (numerical and conventional) and IEDs (Intelligent Electronic Devices).

Conduct primary and secondary injection (CT/VT), protection logic testing, End-to-End testing (communication and protection), and network stability tests.

Perform Scheme Checks (protection and control scheme verification).

Identify and resolve issues (wiring, logic, configuration).

Work on live substations in compliance with strict safety procedures.

Perform final tests (Final Trip Test).

Coordinate activities with construction teams, clients/utilities, and vendors.

Supervise commissioning subcontractors.

Ensure adherence to schedules and procedures.

Prepare test reports and commissioning documentation.

Ensure compliance with client standards (e.g., National Grid / CSD).Manage and optimize Odoo Accounting system (taxes, workflows, reporting, data accuracy).

Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

5–10 years of experience in HV/EHV commissioning.

Proven experience on substations up to 132/220/380 kV, including GIS and/or AIS equipment.

Strong expertise in protection & control systems and advanced electrical testing.

Certified Competent Person with hands-on experience using testing equipment such as OMICRON and Megger.

Solid experience in utility environments, with strong knowledge of live substation commissioning procedures and international standards (e.g., National Grid or equivalent).

Previous experience in the Middle East / Saudi Arabia is a strong advantage.

High level of technical rigor and attention to detail.

Ability to work under pressure on critical projects.

Autonomous and proactive on site.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills in multicultural environments.
