Engineering Interface Department Manager

This role oversees coordination and monitoring of design and engineering activities across projects, ensuring alignment of scope, schedule, and quality standards.

• Coordinate with Technical Design teams to align design delivery schedules with the master project schedule.
• Monitor and evaluate Design Consultants to ensure correctness, completeness, and compliance with scope of work.
• Control and manage Senior Discipline Engineers in the Project Management Team with respect to design aspects.
• Evaluate and endorse variation and concession orders submitted by Design Consultants for client approval.
• Attend all meetings with Design Consultants, their sub‑consultants, and clients.
• Review project design strategy and provide recommendations to the client.
• Ensure timely submission of all documents from Design Consultants to government departments, securing final permits.
• Ensure consultants deliver tender documents following the tendering plan.
• Provide project input data to technical design consultants.
• Regularly update the technical department on future project requirements.
• Develop and update department operating structures, org charts, roles, responsibilities, tools, and software following international best practices.
• Incorporate and maintain compliance with relevant quality, environmental, safety, and occupational health policies and procedures within Hill International.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the line manager or supervisor.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in water and wastewater design, engineering, and project management.
• Extensive knowledge of water and wastewater master planning.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Experience managing or working with engineering consultants.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
