Position OverviewThe Senior HSE Coordinator - Airfield role is responsible for leading and overseeing health, safety, and environmental activities across runway, airfield, and airport construction works in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This position plays a critical role in ensuring full compliance with project HSE requirements, statutory regulations, and international aviation safety standards while supporting safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible project delivery.

- Implement and monitor the Project HSE Plan in line with company policies, local regulations, and aviation authority requirements.
- Ensure compliance with statutory HSE regulations, client requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and environmental risks.
- Monitor daily construction activities including runway, taxiway, apron, and airside works to ensure safe execution.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to approved method statements and risk assessments.
- Coordinate safe work practices for high-risk activities such as asphalt paving, concrete works, heavy lifting, night works, and airside operations.
- Assist in preparation and review of risk assessments, job safety analysis, and method statements.
- Identify potential hazards and ensure effective control measures are implemented.
- Participate in task risk assessments and toolbox talks prior to commencement of critical activities.
- Report, record, and investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Prepare incident investigation reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor implementation and close‑out of corrective actions.
- Conduct HSE inductions for new employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety awareness programs on a regular basis.
- Promote a strong safety culture through continuous engagement and communication across the site.
- Monitor environmental aspects including waste management, dust control, noise, spill prevention, and environmental protection measures.
- Ensure compliance with approved Environmental Management Plans.
- Support initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact during construction activities.
- Assist in internal HSE audits and inspections.
- Coordinate with client, consultant, and regulatory authority representatives during site inspections.
- Ensure timely closure of audit findings and non‑conformances.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, registers, permits, and inspection reports.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports for submission to project management.
- Track HSE performance indicators and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to integrate HSE requirements into daily operations.
- Provide HSE advice and guidance to site teams to ensure safe execution of works.
- Support emergency preparedness and response planning, including drills and simulations.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE certification is mandatory.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HSE roles within construction projects.
- Proven experience on airport, airfield, runway, or large infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with multiple contractors and large site teams.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, construction safety practices, and environmental controls.
- Familiarity with aviation safety standards and airside safety requirements.
- Ability to conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Proficient in preparing HSE reports and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem‑solving skills.
- Additional HSE certifications such as IOSH, OSHA, or ISO 45001 Internal Auditor are an advantage.
