Overview

We are seeking a qualified Transport Planner with between 5 to 7 years of experience to join our Transport Planning and Strategic Advisory Business Unit in the Middle East. The candidate must be a degree‑qualified professional with a minimum of 3–5 years of traffic engineering, transport planning and traffic modelling experience in the Middle East.

Your role
  • Contribute to a variety of transport planning studies, including large‑scale transport master plan assessments, traffic impact studies, and multi‑disciplinary planning projects for public and private sectors.
  • Apply understanding of transport planning, traffic engineering and travel demand theory.
  • Leverage project experience in the Middle East and familiarity with local transport planning standards and practices.
  • Use practical knowledge of the role and importance of transport planning in development access and citywide mobility plans.
  • Undertake junction analysis to support traffic impact assessments.
  • Prepare reports covering existing conditions analyses, trip generation, junction analysis and parking assessments.
  • Communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken.
  • Demonstrate ability to learn and retain new skills quickly from a variety of sources.
  • Work independently with limited supervision.
  • Exhibit experience in project financial management.
  • Assist in growing the Atkins Transport Planning Business and promote Atkins services.
About you
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in traffic engineering and transport planning with operations and maintenance project exposure.
  • Knowledge of Middle East and international transport planning standards and procedures.
  • Experience working within a team.
  • Master’s degree in transport planning or a related field is desirable.
