As Assistant Design Manager - Citywide, you will lead design planning and execution across infrastructure components for Qiddiya's ambitious city-wide developments. You'll provide advanced technical guidance on CAD design, manage interdisciplinary reviews, and ensure accuracy and compliance with all design standards. This is a key position supporting the seamless integration of civil, architectural, and MEP systems into one cohesive design vision.
WhatYou'll Do
- Lead the development and execution of advanced 2D and 3D CAD designs for major systems and structures
- Coordinate design deliverables across engineering disciplines to ensure project-wide consistency
- Develop solutions for complex design challenges involving non-standard components and site constraints
- Provide direction to junior designers and checkers, ensuring technical accuracy and adherence to quality standards
- Perform detailed reviews of supplier/manufacturer drawings and verify compliance with scope and specifications
- Support interdisciplinary integration with engineers, fabricators, contractors, and stakeholders
- Assist with estimating design resource requirements and managing design schedules and workflows
- Ensure that all designs comply with applicable codes, tolerances, and safety standards
- Provide input for the development and improvement of design guidelines and templates
- 2-year technical degree or diploma in CAD, drafting, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 12 years of design experience, including lead-level responsibilities on large-scale projects
- Strong expertise in CAD software (2D and 3D), design coordination, and drafting standards
- Knowledge of city-scale infrastructure design, urban development, or mixed-use master planning
- Ability to lead and mentor lower-level designers and ensure design accuracy across deliverables
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with engineers, project teams, and external vendors
- Experience in Qiddiya or other giga-project environments is a plus
