Position Overview:
The Wet Utilities Engineer - Airfield role is responsible for site supervision, technical coordination, and quality control of wet utility systems for a major airport airfield and runway development project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The position focuses on delivering potable water, firefighting, stormwater, sewage, and drainage networks in compliance with project specifications, aviation authority standards, and regulatory requirements.

- Oversee on‑site construction activities for wet utilities including potable water, firefighting networks, stormwater drainage, sewage, and irrigation systems.
- Ensure installation works comply with approved drawings, method statements, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and site teams to ensure proper sequencing and timely execution of works.
- Arrange and witness inspections and testing such as pressure testing, leakage testing, flushing, chlorination, and CCTV inspections.
- Verify that materials, installation, and testing activities meet project quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support resolution of non‑conformance reports and implementation of corrective actions.
- Coordinate with civil, pavement, MEP, and utility teams to manage interfaces and avoid clashes.
- Liaise with authorities, consultants, and third‑party inspectors for approvals and inspections.
- Support utility diversions, connections, and tie‑ins within active airfield environments.
- Prepare daily progress reports, inspection records, and test documentation.
- Support preparation of as‑built drawings and system handover documentation.
- Respond to RFIs and provide technical clarifications as required.
- Ensure wet utilities works comply with approved HSE plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Promote safe working practices, particularly in confined spaces and excavations.
- Ensure compliance with airside safety procedures and permit‑to‑work systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in wet utilities engineering or site supervision.
- Proven experience on airport, airfield, runway, or major infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of potable water, drainage, sewage, and firefighting utility systems.
- Familiarity with relevant standards and codes including AWWA, ASTM, BS, and local authority requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret utility drawings, profiles, and technical details.
- Proficient in MS Office and technical reporting.
- Strong coordination and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience working in airside or operational airport environments.
- Knowledge of utility authority approval processes.
- Familiarity with QA and QC documentation, inspection and test plans, and testing procedures.
- Experience using document control systems such as Aconex or similar platforms.
- Confined space or safety certifications are an advantage.
- Key technical role on a high‑profile airport and airfield development project in Saudi Arabia.
