Overview
The Senior Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules for landscape, infrastructure, and civil construction projects. The role supports successful project delivery by ensuring accurate planning, progress tracking, forecasting, and reporting in line with project objectives and contractual requirements.
Responsibilities- Develop, update, and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 and other planning tools.
- Prepare baseline schedules, progress updates, recovery programs, and time impact analyses.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of project activities and milestones.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and recommend corrective action.
- Prepare periodic progress reports, dashboards, look-ahead schedules, and project forecasts.
- Review subcontractors’ and suppliers’ schedules to ensure alignment with the overall project plan.
- Assist in resource planning, manpower forecasting, and productivity analysis.
- Support project controls activities, including schedule performance measurement and cost monitoring.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to extension-of-time (EOT) claims and delay analysis.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, project planning procedures, and reporting standards.
- Provide guidance and support to junior planning engineers when required.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of planning and scheduling experience within construction, infrastructure, or landscape projects.
- Industry Preference:
Landscape, infrastructure, utilities, or civil engineering projects. - Strong proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Microsoft Excel;
Power BI knowledge is an advantage. - Good understanding of project controls, scheduling techniques, critical path analysis, and earned value management (EVM).
- Experience in preparing baseline schedules, recovery programs, and delay analyses.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience working on EPC, infrastructure, or design & build projects is preferred.
