HSE Inspector

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented HSE Inspector to join our Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for a transportation project entering the Design & Build D amp B phase. The selected candidate will work under the HSE Manager and be responsible for monitoring the D amp B contractor’s compliance with health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards and regulations.

• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Monitor and ensure the D amp B contractor’s compliance with HSE standards, regulations and project-specific requirements.
• Review the contractor’s HSE plans, risk assessments and method statements.
• Assist in incident investigations and ensure root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented, including photographing the incident as required.
• Prepare and present HSE reports including statistics, trends and recommendations for improvement.
• Provide HSE guidance and support to the project team, contractors and stakeholders.
• Coordinate and conduct HSE training and awareness programs for project personnel and contractors.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained and maintained.
• Promote a positive HSE culture and ensure continuous improvement in HSE performance.
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates on HSE matters.

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Professional certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in HSE management with a focus on metro or railway projects.
• Proven experience in a PMC environment acting as a client representative.
• In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards and best practices.
• Experience in conducting HSE audits, inspections and incident investigations.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment and management principles.
• Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and manage multiple stakeholders.

• Experience in the rail, metro or any transit sectors.

• Proficiency in using HSE management software and tools.
