Job Description
Tarabut's engineering team in KSA is growing, and this role is central to making that growth count. As Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of five to eight engineers, owning their day-to-day delivery, their technical development, and their experience of working will be the person who makes the team function well: removing blockers, running strong rituals, giving clear and honest feedback, and making sure good work gets shipped.
This is a role for someone who is technically credible, genuinely people-focused, and hungry to grow. The path to a more senior engineering leadership role at Tarabut is real, and this position is designed to be a platform for that progression for the right person.
Applications will only be considered from Saudi nationals.
What you'll be doingTeam Delivery
- Own the delivery commitments of your team, ensuring work is well-planned, clearly communicated, and consistently completed to a high standard.
- Run effective sprint ceremonies, including planning, retrospectives, and stand-ups, and hold the team to the process disciplines that keep delivery predictable.
- Identify and remove blockers early, escalating to the Head of Engineering where needed rather than letting issues sit.
- Maintain a clear view of technical debt within your team's domain and work with the team to address it in a structured and proportionate way.
People and Talent Development
- Hold regular one-to-one with each engineer in your team, giving honest, constructive feedback and actively supporting their growth.
- Contribute to the hiring process for engineering roles in KSA, including reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and helping to assess technical and cultural fit.
- Support the onboarding of new engineers into your team, ensuring they are set up for success from day one.
- Identify engineers who are ready for more responsibility and work with the Head of Engineering to create the right conditions for their progression.
Technical Contribution
- Stay close to the technical work your team is doing, contributing to code reviews, architectural discussions, and incident response where your involvement adds value.
- Ensure your team's work meets Tarabut's engineering standards on quality, security, and reliability, particularly in the context of our regulated operating environment in KSA.
- Collaborate with peer engineering managers and the Head of Engineering to maintain consistency in technical practices across the KSA engineering function.
Must Have
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience, with a minimum of 1 to 2 years in a formal engineering leadership capacity, such as principal, tech lead, team lead, or engineering manager.
- Hands‑on technical experience in backend or full‑stack development, with enough depth to review code, contribute to technical decisions, and earn the trust of the engineers you manage.
- A track record of helping engineers grow, whether through mentoring, structured feedback, or creating the right conditions for people to do their best work.
- Experience working in an agile delivery environment, with confidence running sprint ceremonies and managing a backlog.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to translate technical progress and risk into clear updates for non‑technical stakeholders.
- Work at the centre of the open banking movement in one of the world's fastest-growing fintech markets.
- A team that invests in your growth, with structured learning, mentorship, and a clear career pathway.
- Competitive compensation and ESOPs.
- A culture of ownership, trust, and direct impact, with no bureaucracy and no politics.
- A real opportunity to grow into a senior engineering leadership role as Tarabut's KSA engineering function expands.
- The chance to help build an engineering team in KSA from a strong foundation, and to leave a lasting mark on how it develops.
