Director - Utilities Power and Telecom & ICT Design

The job holder is responsible for overseeing utilities PT and ICT design development process by directing conceptual, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing timelines, approving change requests, and providing guidance on corrective actions to achieve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research and benchmarking of global utilities power and telecom and ICT design standards to identify applicable guidelines
• Draft and regularly update internal utilities power and telecom and ICT design policies and procedures to reflect evolving regulatory requirements and project needs
• Ensure frameworks provide a standardized approach to design, minimizing deviations and ensuring approval in a timely manner
• Develop comprehensive review checklists and workflows that define approval stages and criteria for each design phase
• Coordinate and facilitate design review meetings with internal teams and external consultants to ensure alignment across all stakeholders
• Develop a detailed plan that outlines each task, its dependencies, and the responsible party
• Assign specific roles and responsibilities to internal team members and external consultants to ensure ownership and accountability
• Define clear deliverables such as conceptual designs, technical drawings, reports, and specifications to ensure all stakeholders understand project expectations and timelines
• Develop detailed project schedules using advanced tools to visualize critical paths and milestones
• Collaborate with operational teams to translate functional and operational requirements into specific design specifications
• Develop standardized design templates and specifications that streamline the design process and ensure consistency across different projects
• Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to gather data on existing conditions
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify utilities power and telecom and ICT needs and requirements
• Plan the design of a reliable power distribution system that meets the energy demands of the airport, ensuring uninterrupted power for terminals, runways, ground operations, and security systems
• Develop conceptual designs for utilities power and telecom and ICT to provide efficient infrastructure that meets current and future demands
• Analyze utilities power and telecom and ICT design proposals to ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and recommend necessary adjustments
• Conduct technical assessments of utilities power and telecom and ICT designs to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Specify technical standards for materials and equipment to be used in the construction phase
• Coordinate with Corporate Affairs to ensure the provision of necessary permits and approvals
• Manage timelines and milestones for utilities power and telecom and ICT design activities to align with broader project schedules
• Estimate costs for materials, labor and equipment required for utilities power and telecom and ICT development to ensure alignment with overall project budget
• Develop step-by-step guidelines for contractors, outlining construction processes and quality control measures including protocols, inspection checkpoints, quality standards, etc.
• Consolidate guidelines and designs into a detailed construction manual to ensure accurate implementation of utilities power and telecom and ICT design
• Conduct regular site visits to inspect construction progress and adherence to design specifications

Job Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or equivalent is required
• A Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent is preferred
• Minimum 8 years of experience in similar role or equivalent with at least 4 years of experience in a managerial position
