About the Role
We are looking for a STATCOM Specialist to lead the commissioning and grid integration of STATCOM systems supporting renewable energy plants and substations. You will ensure dynamic voltage support systems operate reliably under complex grid conditions while meeting utility acceptance criteria, power quality standards, and grid stability requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Review STATCOM system designs, control philosophies, protection settings and cooling systems
- Participate in FAT and control validation activities
- Lead pre‑commissioning and energization of converter systems and auxiliary equipment
- Validate voltage control, reactive power control, and power factor operating modes
- Conduct dynamic reactive response, voltage recovery, and harmonic performance testing
- Coordinate acceptance testing with utilities and grid operators
- Troubleshoot converter trips, control instability, cooling failures, and communication issues
- Prepare commissioning reports and support OampM handover
12+ years of commissioning experience with STATCOM or FACTS devices. Deep understanding of power electronics and reactive power compensation. Experience with dynamic grid testing and power quality studies. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. OEM commissioning experience highly desirable.
QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering.
