Engineer, Mechanical Design

Key Accountability Areas

Design and Development:

• Create detailed mechanical system designs, schematics, and layouts for projects, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry standards. Conduct load calculations, system simulations, and performance analyses to ensure designs are efficient, reliable, and compliant with relevant codes and regulations.

Documentation and Compliance:

• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and reports. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Ensure that all designs comply with national and local mechanical codes, safety standards, and quality assurance procedures.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with other engineers, architects, and stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems with other building systems and project requirements. Communicate with clients to understand their needs, provide technical advice, and present design concepts and solutions.

Project Management:

• Review and approve design modifications and changes, ensuring they align with project goals and specifications.

Problem‑Solving and Innovation:

• Identify and resolve design issues, perform system testing, and provide solutions to technical problems that occur during the implementation phase. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and solutions.

• Ability to obtain updated soft and technical skills related to the job.
• To have a vision and a plan for the career path and how to achieve it.

Delivery:

• Perform the planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
• Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
• Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.

• Solve any related problems arise and elevate any complex operational issues.

Quality:

• Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities.

Business Process Improvements:

• Coordinate well‑defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automation opportunities as much as possible.

Compliance:

• Comply with related policy and procedures and work instructions.

Health, Safety, and Environment:

• Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high‑quality products/services.
