Job DescriptionParsons is looking for an amazingly talented Cost Engineer to join our team! You will support the Senior Cost Manager in implementing robust cost control and estimating practices across multiple active and future projects. The role involves developing cost estimates, analyzing budgets and variances, tracking progress against baselines, and maintaining cost databases and reports. The Cost Engineer will work within a PMO environment, liaising with the Client, PMCMs, contractors, and stakeholders.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Review material takeoffs on complex projects, drawings, and plans, and check for mathematical and technical accuracy.
- Prepare detailed breakdown of components and elements of estimates for systems and subsystems.
- Review contractual documents and contract modifications to determine scope of work and scope changes.
- Review and summarize task and subtask estimates, including rate and unit cost determination and perform mathematical calculations by applying standard factors.
- Assign material costs and staffing costs to the takeoffs. Obtain telephone quotes for materials and services, if required.
- Accumulate, evaluate, and document historical cost data and construction procedures and methods to maintain current estimating standards and databases.
- Prepare budgets for changes in current projects as well as for future projects.
- Update and maintain the Program’s cash flow, prepare the monthly cost report, manage the Change Order process.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
- Minimum 9 years of experience in cost control, estimation, or cost engineering in major infrastructure programs.
- Familiarity with earned value management and progress measurement systems is an advantage.
- Fluency in English with excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Experience in KSA is a plus.
