Bechtel has been involved in some of the world’s busiest and most complex airport projects, including Greenfield and Brownfield developments. In the GCC, we have held significant roles on King Khalid, King Fahad, Dubai, Hamad, and Muscat international airports. We are considering candidates with aviation, other transportation, or complex public accessible building project experience to provide project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial and construction management) for a major infrastructure project in Riyadh.

In this role, you will lead a team and interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate the engineering technical aspects for complex projects. You will participate in project planning, proposal review, and will own the engineering elements of capital estimates. Your technical guidance and recommendations will ensure engineering aspects meet project requirements and remain within scope and budget.

• Supervises the engineering activity (all disciplines)
• Plans and directs engineering assignments on the project
• Possesses technical responsibilities for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating these assignments
• Ensures the facilities are designed in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner in accordance with policies and all applicable laws, regulations, authorization basis, codes, standards and technical requirements
• Represents Engineering on the project and with the client to resolve technical questions, expedite procurements, coordinate construction interfaces and as required to coordinate work
• Ensures work process execution and technical adequacy are in accordance with contract and industry standards
• Coordinates engineering effort with Project Manager, Procurement, Construction, Startup, ES&H and Project Controls
• Prepares or directs the preparation of project studies, reports, forecasts, special engineering reports and plant data book
• Supervises the engineering activity (all disciplines)

Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.

• Experience in customer-facing roles, presenting to customers, and working with authorities having jurisdiction
• Knowledge of current industry and regulatory standards and general design criteria
• Skill in assessing the scope of problems and developing practical solutions
• Experience in the preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, proposals, value engineering studies, or alternate technical concepts
• Experience with managing the coordination of design development with other functions which will include construction, estimating, project controls, procurement, and contracts management
• Strong background in effectively managing interdisciplinary coordination
• Ability to research, analyze, and report on new design and construction technologies for buildings
• Ability to coordinate and work with the other engineering disciplines, the client, designers, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders
• Demonstrate flexibility in balancing competing deadlines, priorities, and resource availability
• Able to identify and articulate opportunities for procedural improvement, provide solutions and carry out implementation
• Must have strong organizational, leadership and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, and the desire to innovate designs as well as architecture/engineering work processes
• Proven ability to lead and work within a diverse multicultural environment
