Leidos is seeking a Radar Systems Engineer with comprehensive knowledge of surveillance radar equipment; radar subsystems; hardware and software; operation and maintenance; interfacing radars in an air defense network; and familiarity with current Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) systems (e.g., TPS-43, TPS-72, FPS-117, etc.) The Radar Systems Engineer will be part of the Contractor Engineering and Technical Support team in support of a U.S. Air Force Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This is a one-year assignment with option to renew. Assignment location may be one of four locations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with occasional support to remote radar sites per the Performance Work Statement.

Responsibilities
  • Actively advise and assist in all aspects of radar specialty.
  • Continuously monitor RSAF training in this specialty and recommend improvements.
  • Train RSAF Engineering Officers and Warrant Officers in practical and theoretical aspects.
  • Produce adequate engineering training material in this specialty.
  • Perform intermediate‑level maintenance as required.
  • Support Mobile Maintenance Team functions and travel to remote radar sites to perform specialized maintenance, troubleshooting, and training.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Radar Technology.
  • Specialized training and certification in each area of expertise; radar expertise is required.
  • 12‑15 years of experience on a wide variety of surveillance radars including the TPS‑43/72 or the FPS‑117.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of long‑range radar operation, installation, testing, integration, upgrades, and modifications.
  • Experience with air‑defense ground radars, primary/secondary radars, 3‑dimensional radar plot extractors, height computers, and interface equipment.
  • Technical knowledge of antennas, processors, computers, monitoring, data transmission, plot extractors, power systems, and other subsystems associated with the TPS‑43/72 or FPS‑117 radars.
  • Experience interfacing radars in an air‑defense network and siting radars to meet minimum coverage criteria.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated past experience of cultural adaptability and the ability to establish a trusted professional relationship with an international customer.
