The Traffic Engineer supports the preparation, review and implementation of traffic engineering designs, traffic control plans, and safety measures for road infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities- Prepare traffic layouts, detour plans, signal timings, and signage plans.
- Conduct traffic surveys, volume counts, speed studies and level of service (LOS) analysis.
- Review contractor proposals for traffic control and temporary road layouts.
- Ensure traffic management measures comply with regulations and project specifications.
- Support planning of lane closures and road safety arrangements.
- Monitor site implementation of traffic control devices and safety measures.
- Participate in coordination meetings with consultants and authorities.
- Prepare documentation, reports and engineering recommendations.
- Bachelor s degree in Civil or Traffic Engineering.
- 5 10 years traffic engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of traffic modeling tools (e.g., SIDRA, Synchro optional).
- Familiar with MUTCD and local traffic safety regulations.
- Strong design, reporting and coordination skills.
