Deputy Interface Manager – Technical (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) – Full‑time. 12+ years of experience with a minimum of 12 years in railway systems and complex project interface management.

Role Context

The Deputy Interface Manager – Technical supports the management of design and construction interfaces on a major railway or metro infrastructure program in Riyadh. The role requires strong technical understanding of railway systems, civil works, signaling interfaces, subsystem coordination, contractor deliverables, and stakeholder alignment, working closely with civil, systems, depot, operations, maintenance, contractor, and external project teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage technical design interfaces across project disciplines, contractors, consultants, stakeholders, and external delivery teams.
  • Track interfaces between railway systems, civil works, metro design‑build packages, and surrounding projects to support coordinated delivery.
  • Review and validate contractor interface deliverables, including interface management plans, interface matrices, registers, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Identify interface‑related issues, coordination conflicts, missing dependencies, and unresolved technical risks during design and construction stages.
  • Provide guidance to contractors on practical interface solutions that support project delivery, constructability, safety, and system integration.
  • Assess contractor interface management performance and recommend corrective actions when progress, documentation, or coordination quality falls below expectations.
  • Facilitate coordination between metro design‑build packages and adjacent projects to align design, construction, access, systems, utilities, and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders, third parties, project management organizations, consultants, contractors, and authority representatives as required.
  • Work closely with Lead Civil, Lead Systems, Lead Depot, and Lead Operations and Maintenance teams to resolve technical interface challenges.
  • Ensure alignment between railway subsystems, civil works, depot requirements, operational needs, and multidisciplinary design packages.
  • Engage with contractor interface managers to monitor interface progress, close open actions, resolve conflicts, and maintain delivery momentum.
  • Support interface workshops, coordination meetings, technical reviews, progress sessions, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Prepare interface reports, action trackers, risk updates, coordination logs, and status summaries for project management and client stakeholders.
  • Monitor interface registers and dependency logs to ensure ownership, deadlines, decisions, and closeout actions remain clear.
  • Support escalation of critical interface issues where decisions are required from senior technical leads, project management, or external stakeholders.
  • Help maintain consistent interface management processes across complex, multi‑contractor rail and transportation project environments.
  • Promote clear communication and structured coordination between multinational and multidisciplinary project teams.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Saudi National candidate required.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience, including significant experience in project systems interface management.
  • Strong technical expertise in the design and construction of complex railway systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of modern railway systems and their interfaces, including signaling, civil works, rail subsystems, depot elements, and operations requirements.
  • Experience analyzing and managing technical interfaces on major rail, metro, transit, or transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of railway project design management, construction management, stakeholder coordination, and interface control processes.
