Senior Project Controls Engineer
- Scheduling in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is a Construction opportunity with Parsons Corporation for an experienced project controls professional skilled in planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, forecasting, critical path analysis, and performance reporting for major infrastructure and construction projects. This role supports project leadership by maintaining reliable schedules, analyzing delivery risks, preparing project dashboards, and helping engineering, procurement, and construction teams stay aligned with approved delivery objectives.
The role requires strong scheduling discipline, analytical judgment, understanding of EPC delivery, and the ability to translate project performance information into practical recommendations.
- Provide project controls support across planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, performance tracking, and project reporting activities.
- Analyze project performance against approved baseline schedules and highlight trends, deviations, risks, and areas requiring management attention.
- Develop, maintain, and update critical path schedules, logic networks, progress reports, and project performance dashboards.
- Evaluate design changes, construction changes, delay events, and schedule impacts, then recommend corrective measures to reduce project risk.
- Prepare schedule status reports, variance analysis, dashboards, technical summaries, and management presentations for project teams and clients.
- Monitor project progress against planned milestones and identify possible schedule issues before they affect delivery targets.
- Support the customization and improvement of project control systems to meet project-specific reporting, tracking, and forecasting needs.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, commercial, and project management teams to align schedules with actual delivery activities.
- Maintain historical project data to support planning, benchmarking, forecasting, productivity analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Provide technical input to resolve complex scheduling, progress measurement, and project controls challenges.
- Support resource planning by providing information related to project controls workload, staffing needs, reporting cycles, and schedule support requirements.
- Assist in mentoring junior project controls staff and provide practical guidance on scheduling methods, reporting standards, and analysis techniques.
- Track schedule performance indicators and support timely escalation of risks, delays, interface issues, or corrective action requirements.
- Review project activity logic, dependencies, critical paths, progress updates, and schedule narratives for consistency and reliability.
- Help strengthen project decision‑making by converting planning data into clear insights for senior project leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project controls, planning, scheduling, or project management support.
- Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction processes and project delivery methodologies.
- Experience developing and maintaining project schedules, critical path networks, progress reports, and performance measurement tools.
- Proficiency in project controls software and scheduling tools used on construction, infrastructure, transportation, or rail projects.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to analyze project performance, identify schedule risks, assess delay impacts, and recommend practical corrective actions.
- Experience preparing dashboards, progress reports, schedule analysis, forecasting updates, and management presentations.
- Knowledge of earned value management, forecasting, project performance measurement, and benchmarking methods is preferred.
