SME – Sustainability EV Charging in Riyadh supports smart city sustainability goals by assessing localized renewable energy networks, improving power resilience, and guiding technical solutions for accessible electric vehicle charging and low‑carbon utility infrastructure. The role provides technical leadership for renewable power integration, EV charging network planning, solar offset analysis, decentralized storage, and sustainable utility solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Assess localized renewable energy networks and solar integration plans to ensure alignment with smart city sustainability targets, grid capacity limits, and utility performance requirements.
- Lead layout planning, electrical routing, load distribution, and technical specifications for accessible EV charging stations and rapid‑charge hubs.
- Support the scalable deployment of user‑friendly electric vehicle charging infrastructure across public, community, mobility, and infrastructure environments.
- Evaluate localized power grids to balance peak demand through solar PV offsets, micro‑generation, decentralized energy storage, and demand management strategies.
- Review EV charging infrastructure load forecasts and assess their impact on grid reliability, transformer capacity, feeder loading, and future expansion planning.
- Provide technical input for Battery Energy Storage Systems integration with EV charging stations, renewable energy assets, and smart power distribution networks.
- Contribute to green procurement planning by evaluating high‑efficiency equipment, sustainable packaging options, low‑carbon materials, and utility network components.
- Identify program‑level risks related to renewable grid capacity, EV charging demand, solar generation variability, battery storage performance, and power dispatch reliability.
- Develop mitigation plans for grid constraints, capacity gaps, load balancing issues, renewable energy intermittency, and operational sustainability risks.
- Prepare and present Stage Gate documentation for sustainability‑focused power projects and renewable infrastructure packages.
- Develop technical inputs covering PV yield analysis, carbon reduction metrics, lifecycle sustainability impact, power load forecasts, and green design frameworks.
- Review compliance with sustainability requirements, municipal building codes, LEED, Estidama, decarbonization goals, and applicable environmental planning standards.
- Coordinate with power utilities, design consultants, contractors, procurement teams, project managers, sustainability teams, and infrastructure stakeholders.
- Support renewable energy and EV charging design reviews by checking technical feasibility, constructability, safety, maintainability, and long‑term operational performance.
- Provide specialist advice on solar PV modeling, clean energy integration, micro‑generation, battery storage, grid electrification, and sustainable utility planning.
- Assist with lifecycle sustainability assessments to compare design options, estimate environmental impact, and support decision‑making for low‑carbon infrastructure.
- Monitor emerging technologies in EV charging, solar energy, smart grid systems, BESS, distributed generation, and sustainable utility networks.
- Recommend practical innovations that improve energy efficiency, carbon performance, power reliability, and future scalability.
- Master's or bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Planning, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in clean energy, grid electrification, renewable energy systems, EV charging infrastructure, or decarbonization strategy.
- Strong background in electric vehicle charging station planning, rapid charging hubs, easy charger networks, grid impact assessment, and power distribution requirements.
