Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Environmental Lead to join our team!

What You’ll Be Doing:
Environmental Management & Compliance:
  • Lead implementation of the project Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations, permits, and airport authority requirements.
  • Monitor environmental performance across all construction activities.
  • Support environmental approvals and regulatory submissions.
Environmental Impact Assessment & Mitigation:
  • Review and support environmental impact assessments (EIA) for airport infrastructure works.
  • Identify environmental risks and propose mitigation measures.
  • Monitor implementation of mitigation strategies across contractors and work packages.
  • Ensure protection of sensitive environmental receptors during construction.
Site Environmental Monitoring:
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure environmental compliance.
  • Monitor air quality, noise, vibration, water quality, and soil conditions.
  • Ensure proper waste segregation, handling, and disposal practices.
  • Verify contractor adherence to environmental controls and procedures.
Sustainability & Resource Management:
  • Support sustainability initiatives including energy efficiency, water conservation, and emissions reduction.
  • Promote sustainable construction practices across project activities.
  • Assist in tracking environmental performance indicators and sustainability KPIs.
  • Support implementation of green building and airport sustainability standards.
Stakeholder & Authority Coordination:
  • Liaise with environmental regulators, airport authorities, consultants, and contractors.
  • Support environmental permitting and compliance reporting processes.
  • Participate in environmental coordination meetings and audits.
  • Address environmental concerns raised by stakeholders and authorities.
Reporting & Documentation:
  • Prepare environmental monitoring reports and compliance documentation.
  • Maintain records of environmental inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Support preparation of monthly and quarterly environmental performance reports.
  • Document environmental non-conformances and follow-up actions.
Incident Management & Corrective Actions:
  • Investigate environmental incidents and non-compliance events.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Ensure timely closure of environmental issues.
  • Promote continuous improvement in environmental performance.
Training & Awareness:
  • Conduct environmental awareness sessions for site personnel and contractors.
  • Support induction training programs covering environmental requirements.
  • Promote environmental responsibility across all project teams.
  • Encourage sustainable behavior and compliance culture.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree in Environmental Management is an advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental management within infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Experience on airport, transportation, or large-scale civil engineering projects preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental compliance in construction environments.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations, EIA processes, and EMP implementation.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with environmental monitoring tools and reporting systems.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
  • Professional certification in environmental management (e.g., IEMA, CIWEM or equivalent).
  • Experience in GCC or international airport infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with ICAO environmental guidelines and aviation sustainability frameworks.
  • Experience in FIDIC-based project environments.
  • Knowledge of carbon accounting and ESG reporting frameworks.
