The Field Engineer will independently manage inspections, testing, maintenance and technical support for fire-detection, alarm, suppression and life-safety systems. The position requires frequent client interaction, accurate compliance documentation and close coordination with internal project teams to maintain safe and reliable facility operations.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect fire-detection and alarm systems at client facilities.
- Test fire-suppression systems and associated safety equipment.
- Perform scheduled maintenance of life-safety systems.
- Calibrate equipment in accordance with technical requirements.
- Inspect emergency lighting and exit-signage systems.
- Diagnose faults affecting fire and life-safety equipment.
- Troubleshoot system malfunctions and identify their underlying causes.
- Implement corrective measures to restore reliable system operation.
- Document inspection findings and completed maintenance activities.
- Record system test results in detailed technical reports.
- Maintain accurate equipment service histories.
- Keep compliance and certification records current.
- Verify compliance with Saudi fire and life-safety regulations.
- Apply relevant international standards and established industry practices.
- Explain technical findings and recommendations to clients.
- Provide practical operating and maintenance guidance.
- Plan and coordinate field visits according to client needs.
- Manage inspection schedules and project deadlines.
- Monitor changes to applicable safety codes and standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support project delivery.
- Escalate significant safety deficiencies for prompt resolution.
- Maintain strict adherence to field safety protocols.
- Minimum 10 years of fire-safety inspection, testing and maintenance experience.
- Strong knowledge of fire-detection and alarm systems.
- Practical understanding of suppression and life-safety equipment.
- Familiarity with emergency lighting and exit-signage systems.
- Knowledge of fire-safety codes and building standards.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment faults.
- Experience preparing inspection and maintenance reports.
- Ability to work independently in field-based environments.
- Strong planning and time-management capabilities.
- Effective client communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Saudi safety regulations is preferred.
- Fire-alarm certification or an equivalent qualification is advantageous.
- Life-safety system certification is preferred.
- Arabic and English communication capabilities are advantageous.
- Experience with project scheduling and coordination is beneficial.
