SNC-Lavalin has an exciting full-time career opportunity for a Civil Structural Engineer of 07 years experience to build a career in the area of Power Systems Transmission and Distribution The role is based in Jeddah Saudi Arabia The candidate will work in a fast-paced consulting environment with excellent career growth opportunities

Working in collaboration with the Civil Structural team to prepare the following deliverables provide the following engineering services non-exhaustive list

• Development of technical specifications for the procurement
• Development of conceptual and detail design of HV substations
• single line diagrams
• layouts
• BOM etc
• Design of interfaces with protection and control systems
• civil works
• structures
• Preparation of bid documents and bid evaluations
• Design review of detail design performed by O E M and third-party detail design
• Ensure interdisciplinary coordination
• Audits and technical assessment of HV and MV substations
• Construction supervision
• development of installation procedures and method statements
• Commissioning supervision
• Witnessing factory testing
• Feasibility and techno-economic studies
• substations
• distribution systems
• etc
• Design studies and calculations
• load flow
• short-circuit
• grounding
• lightning protection
• lighting
• busbar design
• etc

Bachelor s degree in Civil/ Structural Engineering, from a recognized institution (Master s degree in power systems, an asset).

Minimum 07 years of relevant experience in Engineering, Design and Construction of Extra High Voltage OHTL or related projects.

Exceptional academic and professional record.

Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a focus achieving results.

Team player with great interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

Client focused, highly autonomous, and ability to work under pressure.

Comprehensive understanding of power system fundamentals.

Knowledge or experience in HVDC, FACTS, or HV Cables, an asset.

Eligibility for registration with a Professional Order of Engineers.

Knowledge of IEC, IEEE and CSA standards for electrical equipment and installations.

Availability for short trips to construction sites, factories, client s offices, in Canada, international and overseas.

Fluency in English and French languages, both spoken and written. Additional languages will be considered an asset.

Proficiency in the following (or similar) software tools, an asset: ETAP, CYMECAP, AUTOCAD.
