Your impact
Jacobs is looking for an experienced Planning Engineer to support the successful delivery of major Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), and District Cooling Plant (DCP) projects. The role is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules across all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and completed within established timelines. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to provide accurate planning, progress monitoring, reporting, schedule analysis, and project control support.
Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Scheduling- Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Prepare baseline schedules, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), milestone schedules, and project execution plans.
- Develop engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning schedules.
- Establish activity sequences, logic links, and critical path networks.
- Prepare recovery and acceleration schedules when required.
- Monitor project progress against approved baseline schedules.
- Analyze schedule performance and identify potential delays and risks.
- Perform critical path analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Track productivity, resource utilization, and progress achievements.
- Forecast project completion dates and monitor milestone compliance.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and clients.
- Generate S-curves, manpower histograms, resource reports, and project dashboards.
- Provide schedule updates, forecasting reports, and performance analysis.
- Support management with progress presentations and planning reviews.
- Identify schedule risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Conduct schedule impact assessments for scope changes and project variations.
- Support delay analysis and Extension of Time (EOT) evaluations.
- Perform what-if scenario analysis and recovery planning.
- Participate in project risk review and planning meetings.
- Coordinate with project controls and cost teams to align schedule and budget objectives.
- Support progress measurement and cash flow forecasting activities.
- Assess the impact of changes and variations on project schedules.
- Contribute to project performance monitoring through KPI reporting and analysis.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Participate in project progress meetings and schedule review sessions.
- Ensure timely communication of schedule risks, opportunities, and mitigation plans.
- Support project management in achieving contract milestones and project objectives.
Here’s what you’ll need
Qualifications & Experience- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in planning, scheduling, and project controls.
- Minimum 5 years of GCC/Middle East regional experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience on STP, WWTP, District Cooling Plant, or similar utility infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in EPC and infrastructure project environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (Mandatory).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Project and Advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Expertise in Critical Path Method (CPM), Earned Value Management (EVM), Resource Loading, and Schedule Risk Analysis.
- Experience in delay analysis, claims support, project controls, and performance reporting.
- Knowledge of Power BI and Primavera Risk Analysis is an added advantage.
