Purpose of the Job
To supervise and follow up on the field implementation of telecommunications infrastructure works such as supporting excavation FTTH fiber optic extensions tower and station installations and inspection chambers ensuring the application of technical specifications timelines and safety and quality requirements through coordination with relevant authorities and the project consultant
Main Duties and Responsibilities Field Execution and Supervision- Manage execution shop drawings and monitor excavation cable laying asphalt restoration and civil and electrical works related to the networks
- Conduct daily supervision of field teams and subcontractors to ensure work progresses according to project plans and schedules
- Handle field obstacles such as crossing other utilities electricity water sewage through coordination with the consultant and governmental bodies
- Prepare actual site quantity surveys and verify them against the Bill of Quantities BOQ Review and approve daily and weekly work payment requests submitted by subcontractors
- Prepare and follow up on actual progress payment requests with clients such as telecom companies and consultants
- Follow up and obtain excavation and work permits in coordination with municipal authorities and relevant agencies municipalities roads traffic departments
- Coordinate directly with representatives of service provider telecom companies and the project consultant and approve handover minutes
- QA QC amp HSE
- Ensure field technical tests are performed such as pipe pressure tests and OTDR Splicing tests for fiber optic cables
- Apply occupational safety and protection requirements at excavation and installation sites to prevent accidents and regulatory violations
- Ability to manage sites and field teams under operational pressures effectively.
- Advanced problem-solving skills to overcome technical challenges and obstacles related to routes and designs in the field.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with consultants, contractors, and governmental entities to ensure smooth workflow.
Bachelor's degree in Communications Engineering, Electronics, Civil Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. 3 to 6 years of experience in telecommunications infrastructure projects or public utility networks. Proficiency in design and management software such as AutoCAD and MS Project, with excellent knowledge of local and regional telecom standards and specifications. Certification from a professional engineering authority (e.g., Engineering Council) and a valid driving license.
