The ProjectThis is an opportunity to work on one of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia. This unique project consists of major mixed-use development including sports facilities, entertainment and arts along with all associated infrastructure.
Mace is one of the delivery partners requiring high-calibre and experienced professionals to lead integrated teams throughout each phase of the project.
Key member of the systems engineering team, leading the V&V strategy for transport infrastructure, the built environment and associated assets.
Working across multidisciplinary teams and supply chains, the role ensures requirements are clearly defined, verified and evidenced in line with regulatory standards and industry best practice, including EN 50126, EN 50716 and EN 50129.
The role supports the safe, integrated and high-performing delivery of transport systems from concept and design through construction, commissioning and handover into operations, while meeting user needs, approval requirements and long-term sustainability objectives.
You’ll Be Responsible For- Develop and lead the verification and validation strategy, plans, processes and tools to support timely technical approvals and project delivery.
- Define acceptance criteria and maintain a robust evidence framework, ensuring requirements, hazards, RAM targets and operational needs are verified before formal acceptance.
- Manage integration and assurance risks collaboratively across requirements, interfaces, RAM, safety, certification and regulatory teams.
- Review supplier V&V plans, specifications, reports and evidence, supporting test readiness, commissioning and entry into service in line with recognised standards.
- Provide clear progress reporting and assurance advice to leadership, project teams, suppliers and relevant authorities, including support for incident investigations where required.
- Coach and support teams to embed best practice, strengthen capability and deliver safe, operable and sustainable assets, including proactive carbon management.
- Work collaboratively towards the shared goal of a net zero carbon transition, proactively identifying and managing carbon emissions and reduction opportunities throughout delivery.
- A bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Master’s preferred), relevant to Railway Systems Safety.
- Recognised professional membership and Chartered Engineer status, or an equivalent.
- 10-15 years’ relevant experience within land transport-related design, construction and/or operations and maintenance programs.
- Middle East experience is advantageous.
- Significant experience required in the development, implementation, and management of V&V processes, tools and techniques and associated deliverables.
- Detailed understanding of V&V KPIs and Reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of industry-specific design, construction and operation of railway assets, safety regulations, industry standards and best practices (e.g. ISO
61508, EN50126/29, EN50716). - Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and have relevant work experience working on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.
