Role Context

The Interface Manager
- Rail Systems will lead the interface management strategy for a major transportation infrastructure program in Riyadh. The role requires deep understanding of railway systems, signaling interfaces, systems integration, design coordination, construction sequencing, stakeholder engagement, and contractor management. By controlling technical interfaces across work packages and system elements, the position helps reduce delivery risks, prevent coordination failures, protect project schedules, and support successful integration before revenue service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the interface management strategy, planning framework, processes, and control procedures across the project lifecycle.
  • Identify, define, track, and manage system interface requirements across rail systems, civil works, contractors, suppliers, stakeholders, and project disciplines.
  • Act as the main focal point for interface work package contractors, designated interface contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and external stakeholders.
  • Lead interface coordination meetings, technical workshops, reviews, and resolution sessions to support project integration.
  • Chair regular interface meetings with contractors, suppliers, client representatives, and project teams to resolve open issues and confirm accountability.
  • Ensure interface deliverables comply with contractual requirements, project standards, technical specifications, systems engineering requirements, and quality expectations.
  • Develop and maintain Interface Management Plans for work packages, system elements, project interfaces, and stakeholder coordination areas.
  • Prepare, update, and control Interface Control Documents, Detailed Interface Documents, interface registers, matrices, action trackers, and dependency logs.
  • Monitor interface requirements throughout design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, trial running, and handover phases.
  • Perform impact assessments for interface requirements, design changes, system changes, and stakeholder-driven modifications.
  • Provide recommendations to project leadership to support informed decisions on scope, schedule, risk, quality, budget, sustainability, and operational readiness.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement and integration activities to align project objectives with interface requirements and delivery priorities.
  • Communicate interface issues, approvals, risks, dependencies, mitigation actions, and coordination requirements to the client and project management teams.
  • Manage interface resolution activities and implement mitigation strategies to ensure conflicts are closed in a controlled and timely manner.
  • Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to verify implementation of interface requirements during construction, testing, commissioning, and systems integration stages.
  • Support procurement activities by providing interface management input into tender documents, contract packages, technical schedules, and supplier requirements.
