Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Contracts Lead to join our team!

We are seeking a highly experienced Contract Lead to manage and oversee contract management activities for airfield and airport infrastructure projects. This role will be part of the Commercial/Contracts Department and requires deep expertise in contract negotiation, administration, risk management, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience handling large-scale infrastructure contracts, with a strong focus on airport or civil aviation projects.

The Contract Lead will serve as a key liaison between project delivery teams and commercial management, ensuring contractual obligations are met and commercial risks are mitigated.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Draft, review, and issue high-quality contractual letters, notices, responses, and claims-related correspondence.

  • Translate construction site issues, delays, disruptions, and technical matters into formal contractual communications.

  • Ensure clarity, consistency, and contractual accuracy in all written communication.

  • Maintain structured correspondence logs and ensure timely responses to contractual notices.

  • Understand day-to-day construction activities including airfield works, fencing, utilities, access roads, and airport operational constraints.

  • Address project disruptions and site issues through appropriate contractual mechanisms (notices, instructions, responses).

  • Work closely with project managers and engineers to capture issues accurately and reflect them in contractual documentation.

  • Support contract execution, compliance, and administration across multiple packages.

  • Track contractual obligations, milestones, and deliverables.

  • Assist in managing variations, claims, and change events with proper documentation.

  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, clients, and internal teams on all contractual matters.

  • Participate in coordination meetings and ensure outcomes are reflected in formal correspondence.

  • Support negotiation discussions through well-prepared written positions and responses.

  • Ensure all contractual communications comply with project procedures and contractual frameworks.

  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and correspondence records.

  • Ensure alignment with applicable contract forms and project governance standards.

  • Guide junior staff in drafting and reviewing contractual letters.

  • Promote consistency in communication style and contractual interpretation across the team.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CPCM, CCM, or equivalent) are preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in contract management, preferably in infrastructure, civil engineering, or airport projects.

  • Proven expertise in contract negotiation, administration, and risk management.

  • Experience managing large-scale projects and interfacing with multiple stakeholders.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
  • Experience with international contracts and FIDIC or NEC contract forms.

  • Knowledge of airport or aviation project procurement, operations, and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to manage multiple high-value contracts simultaneously.

  • Strong business acumen with a focus on commercial outcomes and risk mitigation.

  • Experience in dispute resolution and claims management.
