The Architectural Engineering Trainee will gain structured workplace experience within a professional engineering environment while supporting the preparation and development of technical drawings for active projects.
The role is designed to translate academic architectural engineering knowledge into practical design and drafting capability.
Working under professional supervision, the trainee will become familiar with CAD workflows, engineering documentation, applicable standards, dimensional calculations, and the procedures used to produce coordinated technical information for project teams.
Key Responsibilities- Support preparation of architectural and engineering drawings using CAD workstations.
- Learn established drafting standards, drawing conventions, and project documentation procedures.
- Develop basic arrangements, layouts, assemblies, flow sheets, and related technical drawings.
- Convert rough sketches and preliminary engineering information into structured CAD drawings.
- Assist with preparation of isometric and dimensional information where applicable.
- Follow instructions provided by senior engineers, designers, and technical team members.
- Learn how engineering and architectural information is organized within multidisciplinary project documentation.
- Review technical manuals, project instructions, and design directives relevant to assigned work.
- Become familiar with applicable engineering standards and codes used by project teams.
- Develop awareness of ANSI requirements relevant to technical documentation.
- Gain introductory familiarity with PFI standards where applicable to project work.
- Learn the application of ASME requirements within relevant engineering and technical contexts.
- Assist with compiling technical information required for drawing production.
- Perform routine dimensional calculations under supervision.
- Check dimensions, references, notes, and basic drawing information before submission for review.
- Support revisions to drawings following engineering comments and design changes.
- Maintain drawing accuracy and consistency when incorporating markups.
- Follow company procedures for drawing preparation, checking, revision, and issue.
- Support coordination of drawing information with other disciplines when instructed.
- Develop familiarity with document numbering, revision control, and technical records.
- Learn how approved engineering information progresses from concept into coordinated project documentation.
- Assist with organizing technical data used by engineering and design teams.
- Use standard PC software to support engineering documentation and day-to-day project activities.
- Develop practical understanding of professional design office workflows.
- Observe how engineering, construction, and cost management teams coordinate project information.
- Participate in technical discussions and learning activities appropriate to the trainee role.
- Apply university knowledge to real project assignments under professional guidance.
- Maintain accuracy, attention to detail, and professional discipline when completing assigned tasks.

- Complete additional technical responsibilities appropriate to the training program and level of experience.
Candidates must currently be enrolled in an Engineering curriculum at an accredited college or university. The trainee should have completed approximately three or more years of study within an Architectural Engineering discipline. The position is suited to a Saudi National student seeking Co-op experience in architectural engineering, technical drafting, CAD, and professional project delivery.
