Role ContextThe MEP Engineer will connect building design intent with the technical systems required for safe, efficient, and reliable operation. Working across HVAC, electrical distribution, and plumbing services, the role requires coordinated engineering decisions that account for architecture, structural constraints, construction methodology, energy performance, and regulatory requirements. A key objective is to identify system conflicts during design rather than allowing them to become costly site issues.
BIM-based coordination, accurate technical drawings, disciplined design reviews, and close collaboration with other engineering disciplines will help improve constructability and reduce rework. The position extends beyond design production into procurement support, site inspection, contractor coordination, and technical problem-solving. This gives the engineer direct influence over system performance, installation quality, project cost, and successful delivery.
- Design integrated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for commercial and residential developments.
- Develop HVAC systems based on project performance requirements and applicable engineering standards.
- Prepare electrical distribution concepts and coordinated building services layouts.
- Design plumbing networks and associated building utility systems.
- Produce detailed engineering drawings, specifications, schedules, and construction documentation.
- Use AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit to develop accurate MEP design information.
- Coordinate MEP models through Building Information Modeling workflows.
- Review architectural and structural designs to identify interfaces affecting building services.
- Detect spatial conflicts between mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural, and structural elements.
- Develop practical engineering solutions for multidisciplinary design clashes.
- Participate in technical coordination meetings and communicate outstanding design matters clearly.
- Review project requirements and translate them into coordinated MEP deliverables.
- Prepare and review Bill of Quantities for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works.
- Develop cost estimates for equipment, materials, and installation requirements.
- Support project budgeting through technical evaluation of MEP scope and quantities.
- Assess proposed systems for constructability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
- Conduct site inspections to verify MEP installations against approved designs.
- Monitor installation quality and identify deviations requiring corrective action.
- Coordinate technical matters with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and project teams.
- Review site queries and assist in resolving construction-stage engineering problems.
- Confirm that designs comply with Saudi building codes, local regulations, and applicable international standards.
- Maintain controlled records of drawings, calculations, technical submissions, and project correspondence.
- Support technical reviews throughout design development and construction administration.
