Job SummaryThe Planning Manager reports to the Project Controls Manager and is responsible for programme level planning and scheduling activities. The role requires demonstrated skill in integrating schedules, identifying, analyzing, and providing innovative solutions to scheduling problems and in analyzing, developing and presenting schedule impact analysis in a fixed price environment. The Planning Manager provides general schedule guidance, direction and oversight of deployed planning teams, supervision and management of assigned staff and implementation of project training requirements relating to project procedure, tools and systems.
Where required, the Planning Manager also provides guidance to subcontractors
- Directs all programs level schedule development and maintenance monitoring activities.
- Develops, interprets, and executes policy objectives and standards applicable to schedule maintenance and the monitoring of development functions.
- Oversees the implementation of milestone schedules, engineering/procurement/construction closeout monitoring including documentation and planned maintenance activities.
- Manages the preparation of subject-specific schedules on an
-as-required basis, including schedules for the Consortium and subcontractors when necessary - Manages contract notice and reporting requirements.
- Directs schedule analysis/study and problem-solving activities.
- Develops and interprets guidelines applicable to the analysis function.
- Directs schedule reporting activities and provides assistance and guidance for the display or presentation of schedule information.
- Maintains required interfaces internal to the Joint Venture and with the Consortium Partner including scope change control, risk and Consortium reporting as necessary.
- Provides guidance to project director on overall schedule impacts and solutions
- Requires bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 20 years professional experience in project controls with emphasis on cost and project estimating.
- Significant experience of developing and analyzing all levels of schedules for major infrastructure programmers of work.
- Skilled in oral and written communication, with a demonstrated ability to present planning and scheduling information to management and clients.
- Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems. Knowledgeable about current industry and technical developments
