This position is on-site based in Damascus Governorate, Syria.
Position ObjectiveResponsible for the overall management and supervision of mechanical works and associated multidisciplinary site activities for data centre and technical building projects, ensuring that construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities are delivered safely, on schedule, and in full compliance with approved designs, specifications, quality requirements, and applicable standards.
Job Description & Responsibilities- Lead mechanical site works covering HVAC, chilled-water systems, CRAC/CRAH, ventilation, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems.
- Supervise contractors/subcontractors and coordinate mechanical works with electrical, civil, ELV, BMS, and commissioning teams.
- Review mechanical drawings, method statements, material submittals, ITPs, and installation activities.
- Monitor site progress, quality, HSE compliance, NCRs, and corrective actions.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning, including pressure testing, flushing, TAB, equipment start-up, BMS integration, and functional testing.
- Manage site coordination meetings, logistics, reporting, snaggin, and handover activities.
- Ensure mechanical systems meet required capacity, redundancy, reliability, and data-centre environmental requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in mechanical construction/site management.
- Preferably 5+ years in data centres, mission-critical facilities, telecom technical buildings, or complex MEP projects.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled-water plants, chillers, pumps, CRAC/CRAH, fire protection, plumbing, BMS, and mechanical commissioning.
- Familiarity with ASHRAE, NFPA, data-centre standards/tier concepts, QA/QC, and HSE requirements.
- Proven experience leading contractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
- Fluent Arabic with strong English communication and reporting skills.
- Fluency in Arabic with strong English communication, technical reporting, and documentation skills.
