Parsons is seeking a Hydrology and Drainage Lead Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on the planning, analysis, and design of advanced stormwater drainage and flood mitigation systems for major infrastructure and master planning projects. The Lead Engineer will undertake hydrological and hydraulic studies, develop drainage solutions, support flood risk assessment, and coordinate designs with multidisciplinary teams, with particular focus on projects in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East.

- Conduct hydrological and hydraulic studies for flood risk assessment, stormwater management, and infrastructure design.
- Design stormwater drainage infrastructure, including culverts, bridges, channels, swales, ponds, and stormwater networks.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of sustainable drainage systems, erosion protection measures, and flood control solutions.
- Perform rainfall and runoff analysis using relevant meteorological and morphological data.
- Apply industry-standard hydrology and hydraulic modeling tools to develop effective engineering solutions.
- Review design packages and support their quality and timely delivery from pre-concept through Issued for Construction stages.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate drainage systems into wider infrastructure and master planning designs.
The role requires a strong technical foundation in hydrology, hydraulic modeling, flood mitigation, and drainage infrastructure design. Assignments may involve major road schemes and master plan developments where stormwater management and flood protection need to be coordinated with broader infrastructure requirements. The Lead Engineer will contribute to drainage solutions that address flood risk, runoff management, erosion protection, and sustainable drainage requirements while maintaining design quality throughout the project lifecycle.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring- Bachelor 's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 12 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Proficiency in PC software packages commonly used for hydrology and storm drainage design.
- Proven experience with major flood mitigation and stormwater management schemes for roads and master plan developments, particularly in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.
- Strong technical background in hydrology, hydraulic modeling, and drainage infrastructure design.
- Proficiency with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, WMS, HYFRAN , Info Works ICM, Civil 3D, Bentley Suite, ArcGIS Pro, Global Mapper, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of sustainability criteria for Sustainable Drainage Systems.
- Ability to deliver high-quality engineering solutions within required schedules and a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.
