AECOM is seeking a Lead Field Engineer
- Facade and Envelope in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for a Civil Engineering role overseeing facade and building envelope systems on complex construction projects. The position combines field engineering leadership, technical analysis, installation oversight, quality assurance, and multidisciplinary coordination, with responsibility for ensuring curtain wall, glazing, weatherproofing, and related envelope works comply with project specifications, international standards, and the Saudi Building Code.

Lead field engineering activities for facade and building envelope systems.
- Oversee curtain wall, glazing, weatherproofing, and associated installation works.
- Review facade designs, technical specifications, and construction requirements in detail.
- Identify technical issues and recommend practical engineering solutions.
- Coordinate facade systems with architectural and wider building construction requirements.
- Collaborate with design teams to improve facade performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide technical guidance during installation and resolve field engineering challenges.
- Support evaluation of facade performance, including thermal and acoustic considerations where applicable.
The Lead Field Engineer will manage quality control inspections and testing protocols for facade and envelope works. This includes verifying installation quality against approved requirements and ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, industry standards, project specifications, and the Saudi Building Code. The role also requires analysis of facade-related defects or performance concerns, followed by development of appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
SiteLeadership and Coordination
- Supervise engineers, technicians, and field personnel involved in facade and envelope activities.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee installation procedures and provide technical direction to site teams.
- Ensure field activities follow applicable safety protocols and construction best practices.
- Monitor facade and envelope activities against project schedules and budgets.
- Report progress, technical matters, and emerging issues to senior management.
- Support effective resolution of multidisciplinary interface issues.
- Mentor junior engineers and field staff to strengthen technical capability and consistency.
- Prepare and maintain technical records for facade and envelope works.
- Maintain accurate as-built drawings and supporting documentation.
- Prepare inspection reports and retain relevant performance data.
- Document quality inspections, testing results, technical findings, and corrective actions.
- Maintain systematic records that support project traceability and completion requirements.
- Minimum 10 years of professional field engineering experience involving facade and envelope systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in curtain wall systems, glazing technologies, and building envelope design and installation.
- Proficiency with CAD software and BIM modeling tools.
- Strong knowledge of international building codes, standards, and the Saudi Building Code.
- Proven project management and site coordination experience on commercial or high-rise construction projects.
- Strong leadership and team management capability.
- Experience supervising and mentoring engineering personnel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to technical detail.
