AECOM is seeking a Project Controls Engineer - Scheduling in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for a Civil Engineering role supporting project planning, scheduling, progress measurement, baseline maintenance, and schedule performance analysis. The position provides practical exposure to Critical Path Method scheduling, work breakdown structures, earned value methodology, change management, and engineering, procurement, and construction schedule integration.
Planning and Scheduling- Develop practical knowledge of project planning and scheduling concepts and principles.
- Support the development and maintenance of project schedules.
- Gather information required for schedule development and updates.
- Become familiar with the different data sources used to build and maintain schedules.
- Assist with schedule baseline development and maintenance.
- Review and understand engineering, procurement, and construction schedule logic.
- Apply fundamental Critical Path Method scheduling concepts.
- Support regular schedule updates throughout project delivery.
- Identify and investigate project schedule variances.
- Collect schedule data and project updates.
- Measure project schedule progress.
- Support analysis of actual progress against established schedule information.
- Assemble data required for schedule updating.
- Produce scheduling reports based on current project information.
- Provide initial analysis of data used for schedule baseline development and maintenance.
The role will assist in developing and maintaining work breakdown structures that support effective project planning, scheduling, and progress measurement. This requires an understanding of how project scope is organized and linked to schedule activities and project controls information.
Project Controls Development- Develop knowledge of scope control principles.
- Build familiarity with project change management processes.
- Develop an understanding of earned value methodology.
- Gain exposure to scheduling and cost baseline fundamentals.
- Understand the relationship between schedule performance and financial performance.
- Support consistent collection and organization of project controls data.
The Project Controls Engineer will develop familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and construction contracting requirements. Understanding the sequencing and relationships between engineering, procurement, and construction activities will support accurate schedule development and progress assessment.
Reporting and Data Support- Collect and organize scheduling information from relevant project sources.
- Update project schedule data as required.
- Produce scheduling reports for project review.
- Support the preparation of baseline and progress information.
- Investigate identified schedule deviations.
- Maintain accurate supporting information for planning and project controls activities.
The position provides exposure to the core disciplines of project controls, including scheduling, cost baselines, scope management, change control, earned value, progress measurement, and schedule analysis.
