AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Engineer
- Design in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering opportunity focused on the design, development, analysis, and optimization of mechanical components and systems. The role requires an experienced engineer who can translate technical requirements into practical designs, produce accurate engineering documentation, evaluate performance, and collaborate across manufacturing, quality, and product teams while maintaining compliance with applicable standards.

The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical design principles, engineering fundamentals, manufacturing processes, and material properties. The Mechanical Engineer will evaluate component performance and support the development of designs that balance functional requirements with manufacturability.

Experience with Finite Element Analysis and design simulation is preferred, particularly for evaluating stress, durability, performance, and opportunities for design optimization.

• Develop detailed mechanical designs and technical drawings using CAD software in accordance with engineering specifications.
• Conduct design analyses and simulations to evaluate mechanical performance, stress, and durability.
• Interpret technical requirements and translate them into comprehensive design solutions that meet functional and operational objectives.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and product teams to assess production feasibility and cost considerations.
• Select and analyze materials based on component performance and manufacturing requirements.
• Document design modifications and maintain accurate engineering files and project records.
• Review and validate designs against relevant industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations for design improvement.
• Support prototyping and testing activities through design guidance and technical troubleshooting.
• Maintain controlled project documentation with appropriate archiving and version management.
• Contribute to design optimization and continuous improvement throughout development activities.

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in mechanical design or product development.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, CATIA, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals.
• Practical understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare detailed technical drawings and design documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Experience in material selection and understanding of material properties.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and quality requirements, including ISO, ASME, or similar standards.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple design projects.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
