The person will be a Specialist in Control system for the large utility scale I based power plants (> 1 GW) such as Solar, Wind, BESS, Hybrid Power plants, Large Micro grids feeding to hydrogen process plants as well as connected to EHV Grid. Also, expertise in developing control systems for Large Islanded Micro grid.
His in-depth domain expertise in Control System is required to provide technical leadership encompassing Conceptual engineering, Basic Engineering, Detailed Engineering, Factory acceptance testing, Site acceptance testing & commissioning to ensure seamless operation of plant in line with grid code requirements. The expert candidate shall have overall experience in the field of control system for 15 years and in technical leadership level for 5 more years.
- Conceptualization and Engineering
- The candidate shall have a thorough understanding of I plant operations requirements such Normal, Contingency & Emergency scenarios. Further candidate needs to have hands‑on experience in developing the required Control system Architecture for operation of above-mentioned types of I based Power plants as required. This is needed during the Basic and Detailed engineering stage.
- The Control system architecture developed needs to ensure proper compliance with Grid code by taking into the account of various power elements functional characteristics, such as Inverter, STATCOM, WTG, BESS etc as applicable.
- Thorough hands‑on experience in developing a detailed functional specification for various controllers from a simple PV plant controller to complex hybrid controller as per the requirement of project.
- The candidate shall have extensive experience in handling the AGC in controlling the power system control and needs to apply it suitably while developing the control system for project specific requirements.
- Shall be able to develop/review the Control Architecture required to meet the plant operations within the grid code guidelines.
- Shall have a thorough understanding of the different communication protocols like Modbus TCP/IP / IEC 104 / IEC 61850 Goose etc and pros and cons of the different protocols.
- Shall have hand‑on experience in Design / Setup & tuning the parameters of control system such as gain, time constant, anti-windup, low pass and high pass filters, etc to meet the overall objective of the system operation, while meeting the design requirements of various power elements.
- Expertise is required to have understanding on power system study such as Static/Dynamic and Transient to review Grid compliance as well as Grid impact studies. He shall be able to develop the model of the controller in PSS/e, Dig SILENT, PSCAD etc,
- and able to review the power system study reports to interpret the parameters required for control system tuning.
- Shall be well versed in Set-up & Testing through RTDS system (HIL system) to test various control parameters to validate the required performance of overall control system.
- Hands on experience in applying GPS / GNSS based Time synchronization, and familiar with IEEE 1588 (PTP), IEEE C37.238 protocols.
- Thorough knowledge and experience required in interfacing Advanced Numerical Meters & Measuring Devices including configuration and handling the systems
- Class-A power quality measurements (voltage events, RVC, flicker, harmonics/inter-harmonics) per IEC 61000-4-30 (ed.4: 2025); ensure correct aggregation windows and reproducibility.
- PMU/synchro phasor measurements per IEEE C37.118 (phasor TVE, frequency, ROCOF, time tag quality) and integrate with PDC/SCADA.
- Shall have hands‑on experience in interpreting the Grid code requirements and be able to adapt it suitably while…
