Position - Award Staging Manager

Location - Riyadh

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Awards Staging Manager to lead and execute the awards ceremony operations for high-profile international sporting events in Riyadh, KSA. This role is pivotal to delivering flawless, high-impact ceremonies by ensuring precise timing, seamless stage flow, and strict adherence to protocol and brand guidelines.

The successful candidate will serve as the central point of coordination between athletes, production teams, protocol officers, and on-stage personnel, ensuring a smooth, professional, and memorable awards experience for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Awards Ceremony Planning & Execution
  • Lead the end-to-end planning and on-site execution of all awards ceremony staging operations.
  • Develop and manage detailed ceremony run sheets, stage flow plans, and timing sequences.
  • Ensure flawless coordination of medal and trophy presentations, anthem cues, and athlete positioning.
Stage & Backstage Management
  • Manage the handling, placement, security, and readiness of trophies, medals, flags, and award materials.
  • Oversee backstage and on-stage operations to ensure seamless transitions and zero disruption during live ceremonies.
  • Monitor stage readiness at all times, ensuring compliance with safety, branding, and protocol standards.
Athlete & Participant Coordination
  • Coordinate athlete movements, including call times, stage entry and exit, line-up order, and podium positioning.
  • Liaise closely with team liaisons and protocol officers to ensure athletes are briefed and guided correctly.
  • Ensure athletes, dignitaries, and presenters are positioned accurately and on time for live broadcasts.
Team Leadership & Communication
  • Supervise, brief, and manage ceremony ushers, stage assistants, volunteers, and runners.
  • Provide clear instructions and real-time direction to all ceremony staff during live events.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for staging-related communication during ceremonies.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
  • Work closely with Event Directors, Broadcast Teams, Production Managers, Protocol Officers, and Venue Operations.
  • Ensure alignment with international sports federation protocols and event branding guidelines.
  • Support rehearsals, technical run-throughs, and full dress rehearsals to guarantee readiness.
Live Event Troubleshooting
  • Anticipate potential risks and challenges related to timing, stage flow, or participant movement.
  • Resolve on-stage, backstage, or timing issues calmly and efficiently in real time during live ceremonies.
  • Maintain composure and decisive leadership in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in awards staging, live event operations, sports ceremonies, or broadcast events
    .
  • Strong understanding of live event timing, stage flow, ceremony protocol, and athlete coordination
    .
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex ceremonies with multiple stakeholders and tight schedules.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Fluent English is mandatory (Arabic is an advantage).
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform under pressure during live, high-profile, televised events.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and extended event hours as required.
