We are seeking a talented Live Sound Engineer who is passionate about delivering flawless audio experiences across concerts, live performances, corporate events, festivals, and luxury hospitality activations.

Position Overview

The Live Sound Engineer is responsible for the planning, setup, operation, maintenance, and optimization of professional audio systems for live events and entertainment experiences. This role ensures every performance achieves the highest technical standards while working closely with artists, performers, production teams, and venue management.

The successful candidate thrives in fast‑paced live event environments, possesses exceptional technical expertise, and can respond quickly to changing production requirements while maintaining outstanding sound quality.

Key Responsibilities Audio Operations
  • Set up, configure, operate, and dismantle professional live sound systems for concerts, performances, private events, festivals, and venue activations.
  • Operate digital and analogue mixing consoles during rehearsals and live performances.
  • Conduct comprehensive sound checks with artists, performers, musicians, DJs, presenters, and production teams.
  • Monitor and adjust audio levels, equalization, dynamics processing, monitors, and effects to deliver optimal sound quality throughout each event.
  • Ensure consistent front‑of‑house (FOH) and monitor mixes that meet artist and production requirements.
Technical Support
  • Troubleshoot audio equipment and system issues before and during live events with minimal disruption.
  • Diagnose faults in microphones, wireless systems, speakers, amplifiers, signal processors, and digital audio networks.
  • Perform routine testing, preventative maintenance, and equipment inspections.
  • Coordinate repairs and servicing when required.
Event Production
  • Collaborate closely with Production Managers, Lighting Technicians, Stage Managers, AV teams, performers, and external production companies.
  • Interpret technical riders and implement artist audio requirements.
  • Assist with stage patching, signal routing, and backstage technical support.
  • Support rehearsals, venue turnovers, and production schedules.
  • Ensure seamless integration between sound, lighting, video, and special effects.
Equipment Management
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all audio equipment and accessories.
  • Ensure equipment is stored, transported, and maintained according to manufacturer standards.
  • Report damaged or missing equipment promptly.
  • Recommend equipment upgrades and replacements where appropriate.
Health & Safety
  • Follow all venue health, safety, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure safe cable management and equipment placement to minimise hazards.
  • Maintain compliance with electrical safety regulations and event risk management protocols.
Continuous Improvement
  • Stay current with emerging audio technologies, software, and industry best practices.
  • Participate in technical training and product demonstrations.
  • Contribute ideas that enhance production quality and operational efficiency.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced knowledge of professional digital mixing consoles.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Audio signal flow
    • Gain structure
    • Acoustics
    • Microphone selection and placement
    • Loudspeaker systems
    • Wireless microphone systems
    • Digital audio networking (Dante preferred)
  • Experience operating FOH and monitor mixing systems.
  • Familiarity with audio recording systems is advantageous.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, stage plots, and audio patch lists.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree / Diploma / Technical Certifications in Audio Engineering, Sound Engineering, Music Technology, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • 5–6 years of professional experience in live sound engineering, preferably within entertainment venues, festivals, theatres, concerts, or luxury hospitality environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting high‑profile live events and performances.
