OverviewAmazon is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to focus on India income tax reporting and compliance. This position will primarily prepare and review local country tax reporting (India direct tax returns & tax accounting) as well as the international aspects of the US GAAP worldwide income tax provision. The role also includes support in tax assessment and litigation.
Key Responsibilities- Technically strong – good working knowledge of Indian direct tax laws with special focus on WHT laws and related compliance.
- Review of tax returns and related filings, well‑versed with associated compliance requirements.
- Support the team in assessment and litigation; manage numerous tax notices and collate information from various stakeholders within and outside the tax team.
- Deal with novel tax issues associated with the e‑commerce industry, data centers, etc.; monitor changes in tax legislation and proactively assess impact on the company.
- Prepare and review quarterly advance tax computations for various entities, ensuring timely payment of tax.
- Prepare and review annual tax computations to support IN GAAP statutory filings for India based entities.
- Prepare and review monthly/quarterly tax computations to support US GAAP provision for India based entities and support Amazon’s worldwide US GAAP provision for India based companies.
- Support statutory audit and tax compliance such as tax audits, Form 3
CEB filings, etc. - Coordinate with other teams on various matters related to tax.
- Serve as the SPOC for global processes.
- Anticipate data requirements based on best practices and industry insights; streamline data collation for revenue audits.
- Identify and drive automation projects.
The team is responsible for managing direct tax reporting and compliance requirements for Amazon entities in India.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi‑national corporate tax department
- 2+ years of maintaining and operating transaction tax calculation software (e.g. Vertex)
