Role Context

The Corporate Tax Director will provide senior leadership across technically complex tax engagements while developing trusted relationships with CFOs, Finance Directors, Tax Heads, and other executive stakeholders. The position requires the ability to translate evolving tax requirements into practical strategies that support clients ' commercial and compliance objectives. Beyond engagement delivery, the Director will influence the growth and profitability of the tax practice.

Responsibilities span opportunity development, proposals, client acquisition, team capability, engagement economics, revenue generation, and overall service-line performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex Corporate Tax and International Tax Advisory engagements for major clients.
  • Provide senior-level guidance on corporate taxation, international tax matters, structuring, transactions, and related advisory requirements.
  • Advise clients on Transfer Pricing considerations and their interaction with broader corporate tax strategies.
  • Review complex technical positions and ensure recommendations are commercially practical and professionally robust.
  • Lead discussions with CFOs, Finance Directors, Tax Heads, and other senior decision-makers.
  • Develop trusted executive relationships and identify opportunities to expand existing client accounts.
  • Originate new advisory opportunities through market engagement, professional networks, and targeted business development.
  • Lead proposals, pitches, commercial discussions, and engagement negotiations.
  • Develop strategies for expanding the Corporate Tax Advisory service line and strengthening its market position.
  • Maintain oversight of multiple engagements and ensure agreed scope, quality, and delivery timelines are achieved.
  • Provide senior review and direction on important client deliverables.
  • Build and mentor a team of tax professionals while developing technical and commercial capability.
  • Allocate leadership attention and resources according to engagement priorities and client requirements.
  • Monitor engagement economics, utilization, revenue, margins, and commercial performance.
  • Contribute directly to practice revenue, profitability, and P & L objectives.
  • Identify changes in tax legislation, regulatory guidance, and enforcement approaches that could affect clients.
  • Maintain awareness of Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing, International Tax, and regional tax developments.
  • Promote consistent quality standards, risk management, and professional judgment across advisory engagements.
Ideal Profile

The preferred candidate will bring several years of substantial experience across Corporate Tax and International Tax Advisory, ideally gained within a Big 4 firm, leading professional services organization, or established tax advisory practice. Strong technical knowledge of corporate taxation is essential, while practical Transfer Pricing expertise is highly desirable. The candidate should have experience leading sophisticated engagements, advising senior executives, and converting technical tax considerations into commercially relevant recommendations.

A successful track record in business development and practice growth is important. Experience managing a service line or advisory practice, including revenue and profitability responsibilities, would provide a significant advantage. The position requires mature leadership, strong commercial judgment, persuasive communication, and effective stakeholder management. CA, ACCA, CTA, ADIT, CPA, or an equivalent professional qualification is preferred.
