Senior Urban Planners

Scope of work

The candidates will support AtkinsRéalis with:

• Interpreting existing Amanah land use plans, zoning plans, and regulations for Riyadh.
• Preparing citywide land use and plot-level zoning plans.
• Developing planning policies, guidelines, and zoning regulations.
• Developing built-form densities and their distribution across the city.
• Preparing building-height plans.
• Preparing community facilities plans.
• Coordinating with Amanah regarding land use and zoning changes.
• Supporting urban planning governance procedures related to:
• Land use planning
• Zoning regulations
• Development controls
• Providing strategic planning advice on the AAPs.
• Supporting presentations, coordination, negotiations, and interpretation of planning matters with Amanah and other authorities.
• 15+ years of experience
• Bilingual in Arabic and English
• Strong and preferably long-term experience in Riyadh planning
• Experience dealing with:
• Land use and zoning
• Planning regulations and development controls
• Government stakeholders
• Presentations, coordination, and negotiations

• 15+ years of experience
• Bilingual in Arabic and English
• Strong and preferably long-term experience in Riyadh planning
• Experience dealing with:
• Riyadh Amanah
• Land use and zoning
• Planning regulations and development controls
• Government stakeholders
• Presentations, coordination, and negotiations

• Duration: 5-6 months
• Full-time presence in Riyadh is preferred
• At least one planner must be permanently based in Riyadh
• The other planners may be rotational or partially remote
• However, the full team should attend AtkinsRéalis's Riyadh office for at least three weeks per month

Each CV should highlight:

• Total years of urban planning experience
• Specific projects completed in Riyadh
• Work with Amanah or other Saudi government authorities
• Land use and zoning planning experience
• Policy, guideline, and regulation development
• Built-form density and building-height planning
• Community facilities planning
• Stakeholder management and government coordination

• Current location and availability
